Classes
All agriculture classes at Villa Grove High School will operate primarily out of Google Drive. All Assignments, class syllabuses, and lesson plans/calendars will be available from this platform. Students will have Google accounts set up to access these materials. Parents wishing to receive weekly email updates, calendar alerts/reminders, or gain access to student resources should contact the teacher via email using a Gmail account.
About the Teacher
Callie Parr was born in Carbondale, IL. She attended Fairfield Community High School where she graduated salutatorian of her class in 2000. She then attended Murray State University in western Kentucky earning a bachelor of science in Agricultural Education. From there, she began her career at Paris High School in east central Illinois from 2004-2007 teaching Agricultural Mechanics 1 & 2, Horticulture 1 & 2, and Agricultural Science. In the Fall of 2007, Mrs. Parr made the move to Tuscola High School, teaching a variety of agricultural classes and serving as the FFA advisor. In 2008, she completed her master of science in Agricultural Education at University of Illinois. In the spring of 2012, Mrs. Parr made the decision to leave agriculture education to focus on starting a family, and her son Ethan was born in 2013. After serving as a direct aide for 2 years at Arcola High School, she is returning to agricultural education as the first agriculture teacher at Villa Grove since 1985. Mrs. Parr's areas of expertise are in Animal Nutrition and Reproduction, Soil Science, Biofuels and Alternative Energies, and Leadership Training.
